Happy Anniversary!

Because of our cold, snowy weather we have had lately, I decided to start our updated blog with a look back to July!
It is hard to believe it has been five years! Well, because of my lack of blogging, now its about 5 1/2! Matt and Abbie's anniversary is a few days after ours and so we decided we would celebrate together! Our men took us to a wonderful steak dinner at Mahogany Steakhouse.
After dinner we decided to go to Oak Tree Country Club for dessert. This definately was not planned, but after dessert we walked out and Abbie said, "This is exactly where you were five years ago!" So of course it created another photo opportunity! (Picture to the left:Brian and I outside Oak Tree; Below: The four of us at dinner)
P.S. Be sure to keep scrolling down to see more of our updated blog!

Christmas Blizzard 2009

I'm dreaming of a White Christmas....That is what we got for Christmas 2009! It all started Christmas Eve...of course we had one last gift to buy. We left the house about noon and were on our way to meet Adam and Cassidy to buy this one last gift. After we departed ways, we met a friend for lunch and yes, it was starting to get ugly on the roadways, but we thought we will eat real quick and then head home! Much to our surprise it started to get real ugly! It took us what seemed like forever to get home. Cars were stranded and stuck everywhere, even in the middle of the road. Thank goodness we had four wheel drive or we would not have been out! After taking us an hour to get home we sat down and took a deep breath! After relaxing for about an hour we decided to pack our bags and begin to make our way to my parents house before it got dark! Everyone's Christmas Eve plans changed, so we headed to Cassidy's parents house and enjoyed a nice dinner with them and watched White Christmas! After a full day of snow, the total in our metro area was 14 inches! I don't think we will ever forget "The Christmas Blizzard of 2009!"
(Picture above is Tahoe enjoying hiding his ball in the snow! I can't wait to take him to Colorado sometime. He loves the snow! Picture below is the snow in action...early stages!)

Cotton Bowl 2010

After experiencing all the snow during Christmas we enjoyed a break from the cold weather and headed to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl to watch Oklahoma State and Ole Miss play for the title. Sad to say the Cowboys lost, but it was a great experience seeing the New Texas Stadium! The picture to the left is Grant Teaff giving the Invocation! Go Bears!

Ice Storm 2010

Now that I am getting caught up on blogging....We have had another snow storm. This was actually called "Ice Storm 2010." The weathermen had been warning us about this ice storm that was heading our way. The were concerned about power outages and obviously the roadways. Wednesday was a gorgeous day! The high was about 65 degress and at about 3:00 we received an email at school notifiying us we would be out of school Thursday and Friday due to the inclement weather that was headed our way. It just didn't seem right...here I was outside at carpool on 65 degree January day and I was telling parents we would not have school the next two days. I will have to say the weathermen are 2 for 2 on the winter storm weather predictions for this winter season. It all started early that morning with freezing rain, which was not a good thing, it changed over to sleet later in the day and snowed ALL day Friday! We probably got about 6 inches of snow this time. What did I do during my two unplanned days off? NOTHING! I felt so lazy, but I loved it. I started a new book and watched a few movies. I am sitting here on a Sunday playing catch up on laundry and cleaning wondering why didn't I do this earlier!
The picture above was taken on Saturday. The sun came out for just a little bit! Below is a picture of the snow in action and of course Mr. Tahoe playing outside in the front yard! We couldn't get him to come in! The last picture is a close up of our tree in the front yard with about 1/2 inch of frozen ice! I am ready for Spring!!
