We had a great weekend with my family! We celebrated graduation, birthday, and Mother's Day. My mom graduated this past weekend from Seminary from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. My parents were able to spend the whole week in Washington, D.C. with my grandma and Rita. Brian and I left Thursday evening and flew to D.C. We did a whirl wind tour of D.C. in one day! Unfortunately it rained most of the day Friday, but we still got to see a lot of great things. To name a few....we toured the White House (one of my dreams), the National Archives building(holds the Constitution, Declartation of Independance, and Bill of Rights), saw Ford's Theatre but couldn't go in b/c they were remodeling part of the building, U.S. Capitol, Senate Building, Union Station, Lincoln Memorial, Washgington Monument, and WWII Memorial. Ok, I named them all! We were exhausted by the end of the day! We walked a ton, but caught on pretty fast how to get around on the Metro (subway). Friday evening we drove to Lynchburg, to meet up with the rest of the family. This was actually my second visit to Virginia! :)
Saturday morning we went to part 1 of my mom's graduation. It was outside on the football field. The graduation speaker was Chuck Norris. Thats right, Walker Texas Ranger. Did you know he is from Oklahoma? I didn't! He spoke about his testimony. The guys loved getting to see him. Evidently, he stayed at our hotel too, but never saw him. We just saw the police escort waiting outside Saturday morning.
I can't forget to add that Saturday was also Brian's birthday. So, he got to see one of his favorite tv actors for his birthday!
Saturday night we went to a wonderful steak house to celebrate Brian's birthday, graduation, and Mother's Day. It was a great time to get the whole family together! It was definately a very busy weekend, but we really had a great time! That part of the country is just beautiful! Look for pictures later today!
